How We Teach
Assessment & Evaluation
We administer assessments to find the root causes for learning challenges. Then we design a program that addresses those specific needs.
We consider all previous assessments, IEPs, observations, and intake history forms. We require our own assessment to identify previously mastered skills, baselines for instruction, and information to set specific goals for intervention.
Assessment types and fees may vary on previous information and needs.
Educational Therapy
Educational Therapy is different than tutoring. ET addresses the needs of the whole child, including processing skills.
BTES specializes in educational therapy for a wide range of students. Educational therapy targets areas of challenge for children and adults.
Our researched and evidence-based methods serve students with dyslexia/dyscalculia, ADHD, executive functioning, processing speed, memory, sensory difficulties, auditory processing, anxiety, gross/fine motor skills and spoken/written language.
Specialized Learning
Research has shown that explicit, systematic teaching with frequency and intensity re-wires the brain for learning.
Just as an athlete cannot improve by working out twice a week, making neuro-cognitive changes for learning requires frequent or daily intervention.
Our school programs and learning centers provide consistent instruction that builds automaticity and fluency with newly learned skills. Students must reach mastery in order to advance to a higher level.
Processing Skills
Our research-based methods strengthen and even correct the root of learning problems, building a stronger foundation for learning.
Students who struggle with learning may have unevenly developed or weak underlying processing skills. These include attention, memory, auditory and visual processing, logic and reasoning, language, phonemic awareness, and sensory processing.
When these underlying skills are strengthened, learning academic skills becomes more efficient and fluent.
we can help!
If you suspect your child has dyslexia or other unidentified learning challenge, we can unlock that puzzle with an assessment and design a plan for success. We also address the needs of students who have IEPs and may have a Specific Learning Disability, ADHD, OHI, Nonverbal LD, or mild ASD, including those with a 504 Plan.
